LVA Weekend Arts Guide - 9/9/21
NEW: The last show for 2021 at The Paul Paletti Gallery will be Splendor, Myth & Ritual by Keith Carter. This show runs through December 31st. An artist's reception will be held Saturday, September 25 from 2-4 pm. Mr. Carter is the Keynote Speaker for the 2021 Louisville Photo Biennial, his Keynote will take place at the Speed Museum on Friday, September 24 at 6 pm.
NEW: KORE Gallery will host their annual Black and White Show for the month of September with an opening reception on September 11th from 6:00 to 9:00. The show will consist of over 100 local artists and approximately 200 works of art. This is an annual black-tie formal show, so please dress appropriately. Because of the rise in Covid, to protect their guests and artists KOR will be requiring proof of vaccination and the wearing of masks for entry.
NEW: The Portland Museum opens an exhibit of Photographs by Jon Cherry as its Photo Biennial show. There is a reception tonight 5-7 pm.
NEW: garner narrative has opened Wendi Smith Elegy. It runs from Friday, Sept. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 10. There will be no reception but the artist will be present 5 - 6 pm on select Fridays. Listen HERE to an interview with the artist on LVA’s Artebella on the Radio.

New: Photographs by Scott Slusher has opened at Art Sanctuary. Part of the 2021 Louisville Photo Biennial.
NEW: The "Transitions" exhibit runs through September 25th at Brick Street Studios. The exhibit features the work of Louisville artists: Shamia Gaither, Katherine McCadden, Irene Reed, Diana Taylor, Ali Wine, and Eriko Whittaker.
NEW: KMAC has four exhibits through November 7: Cynthia Norton - Mystical Heart, James Benjamin Franklin - A Layered Approach, Myra Greene - Spectrum, Kiah Celeste - Before It Falls Apart.
NEW: Bellarmine University’s McGrath Gallery has opened Shae Goodlett’s Reflectance.
NEW: Stoneware & Co. has “Local Color”, a new solo show of work by Lynn Dunbar Bayus.
NEW: Surface Noise hosts "Adaptations: New work by Rita Cameron." through September 18.
