Dean Mistler
Children's Fine Art Classes Instructor

Dean Mistler has taught 20 plus years for the Louisville Visual Arts Association and is presently entering his 36th year of teaching art for the New Albany Floyd County Consolidated Schools.  He teaches art, usually at the middle school level but also has experience teaching high school students.  Because of his experience at each level he teaches both middle school and high school sections for the LVAA in Indiana.  Dean loves teaching art and because he is a single father of two and has not had a lot of time to devote to his own art.  He derives a lot of enjoyment, therefore from seeing the creativity and talent of others.

Dean has a Bachelors, a Masters, and a Masters plus 30 from Indiana University. He is Hoosier born and raised and has lived in southern Indiana all of his life.  He loves the area and the people that live there and would not care to live anywhere else.

His hobbies, besides looking at the art of others, is varied.  He loves to build and remodel and is only stifled by lack of funds.  He loves to mow grass and his neighbors have on occasion accused him of mowing more than once a a week.  He loves the seasons and marvels at each and enjoys all that each season brings with it. He recently became a Grandfather for the first time and is currently enjoying the thrill of having a small child around.
